The Regal

The Regal cinema in Evesham near us has opened after a long refurb and is truly wonderful. The restoration is spot on  - conservation with comfort I'd say but it's the concept that makes it unique - the stalls seating is done as round tables and plush swivel chairs with a long bar along the back wall so you can have drinks and snacks served during the performance. Goodbye mass market popcorn and pick n mix, hello glasses of rioja with bread and olives. Upstairs in the circle the seating concept extends to sofas and luxury seats and two royal boxes. The art deco style is very much in evidence  - lots of red -  and I recognised the old clock and the balustrade and pillars just as they were when we used to take the children a little while back. We first saw Twister at the Regal one February half term and Patrick must have been impressed as he is a meteorology student now!  Do check out the link and book early, the seats go fast.
